Anne
Burke - Centre Director, Psychotherapist/Counsellor - M.Sc. (Psychotherapy
Studies), B.Sc. (Psychotherapy & Counselling), MIACP, MIAHIP,
MEAPA, MIAPPCCentre Director Anne Burke originally graduated from the Tivoli Institute with a Diploma in Psychotherapy/Counselling. She went on to receive a BSc in Psychotherapy/Counselling from Middlesex University and has recently been awarded an MSc in Psychotherapy Studies by the University of Sheffield. Anne also holds a Diploma in Gestalt Therapy, has professional certificates in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Treatment of Sexual Addiction and is a fully accredited therapist with IACP, and IAHIP and is a Practitioner of Therapeutic Play and has recently become a fully accredited member of the Republic of Ireland Employee Assistance Professionals Association.
Anne has also completed further training in the area of Relationship Counselling, Suicide Intervention, Loss & Bereavement, Sexual Abuse, Bullying & Harassment, Self-Development & Assertiveness, Anxiety & Panic Attacks, Critical Incident & Stress Management, PTSD, Group facilitation and Expressive Arts Therapy.
Anne works with individuals, couples, adolescents & children and also runs Group Therapy and workshops from the Centre.
Anne uses a existential-humanistic and integrative approach, which incorporates all the different therapies which she has studied; psychodynamic, gestalt, cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centred, Expressive Arts Therapy and Play Therapy.
Anne firmly believes that once people are given the right environment to address issues, they can explore and understand their difficulties in a new light, discover strengths within themselves to make any changes they may feel are appropriate, discover supports and resources that are open to them and also become more aware of their own potential and ability to cope and empower themselves.
Shane has worked extensively in Africa, the Far East and North America. He is acclaimed in the International Business Community. Apart from his Business Management and Consultancy experience, Shane has a comprehensive depth of experience as a Practitioner in the field of Counselling & Psychotherapy and Life/Personal Coaching
Judi graduated from Dublin Business School with
an honours BA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. She also holds qualifications
from UCD in communication skills and applied social studies. Judi works from an
integrative perspective, which is grounded in a training which is psychodynamic,
person centered and also incorporates training in family systems. The areas she
works with include communication and relationship issues, separation and
divorce, self esteem issues, loss and bereavement, depression and anxiety
disorders
Noelle Carroll graduated from the Tivoli Institute with a Diploma in Psychotherapy/Counselling. She has a private practice in the Johnstown Therapy Centre for the past 8 years. Noelle uses an Integrative approach which encompasses different types of therapies; person-centred, psychodynamic, gestalt and cognitive behavioural therapy. The areas she works with include relationship issues, loss and bereavement, self esteem, depression and anxiety disorders.
Barbara is a Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapist working with with a range of issues such as Bereavement & Loss, Anxiety, Panic Attacks & Depression, Addiction, Relationship issues to include Separation & Divorce; Work related stress, Low Self Confidence & Self Esteem, Sexual Abuse, Bullying & Harassment & Anger Management. Barbara has worked as a psychotherapist since 2003 and is an accredited member of the Irish Association of Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP). In 2007, Barbara also qualified as a Business, Executive & Personal Coach with the Coach Institute and is an accredited member of the Life & Business Coaching Association of Ireland (LBCAI).
Bernie has 10yrs experience working with
individuals and couples. She works from a Humanistic approach grounded in Person
Centred therapy and incorporates Cognitive Behavioural and Gestalt skills.
Bernie has specialist training in working with relationship and sexual problems,
enhanced by her nursing background. She also has experience working with a
clients suffering with stress, depression, low self esteem, trauma.By developing
a warm empathic respectful environment Bernie supports her clients to move
towards self-awareness, acceptance and responsibility leading to their
empowerment, growth and healing.
Mary graduated from the Dublin Counselling and Therapy Centre with a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. She has recently completed further training in the treatment of trauma with the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute. Trauma work blends theory and technique from cognitive and dynamic therapy with somatic awareness and movement interventions, such as helping clients become aware of their bodies, track bodily sensation and implement physical actions that promote empowerment and competency. Mary is currently doing an integrative bodywork course which explores character structure from a characterological-developmental perspective and identifies how certain fear-based patterns can be held in the body in the form of, for example, muscular tension, poor posture and energy blockages. As well as trauma, and using a humanistic and integrative approach, Mary works with a range of issues such as depression, anxiety and stress, grief and loss , eating disorders, sexual abuse, low self-esteem, life crisis and childhood and relationship difficulties.
Cathy Culloty is a second year psychotherapy student in the Tivoli Institute and is offering low cost counselling at the Centre under the supervision of the Tivoli Institute. Cathy has a B.A. in humanities from DCU and it was through studying this that she developed an interest in human relating and the difficulties therein. Cathy went on to complete a certificate in counselling & psychotherapy before commencing on her training in the Tivoli. Cathy also recently completed a 10 week observation position with Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Geoffrey O'Donoghue in Aiseiri residential treatment centre in Wexford. Cathy is both enthusiastic and passionate in her work and offers a compassionate and non-judgemental space to explore each individual’s difficulties
Tom is a fully qualified,
insured and registered practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He
completed his studies and clinical training at the College of Oriental Medicine
in Dublin. He is registered with the Acupuncture Council of Ireland whose
members are bound by a Code of Ethics and a Code of Practice. As a member of
ACI, Tom is approved by Hibernian Aviva Health, VHI, Quinn Healthcare and HSA
for out-patient insurance purposes.
