Eimear Ryan

Systemic Family Therapy

 

Eimear is a Systemic Family Therapist with over sixteen years of experience working with young people and their families. She has a B.Sc. and an M.Litt (Research) from Trinity College Dublin and an M.Sc. (Systemic Psychotherapy) from UCD. She is a fully accredited psychotherapist and is registered with the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP) and the Family Therapy Association of Ireland (FTAI).

Eimear has worked in community child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), in-patient CAMHS, youth detention and in special care services. She has extensive knowledge and experience of the continuum of services available to young people in distress. Eimear is particularly skilled at building therapeutic relationships with young people and their families.

Eimear is also experienced in working with couples and adults in family therapy. Working from a systemic perspective, she explores the context of our relationships and our patterns of communication with others. During her psychotherapy training, Eimear worked in a low-cost community-based service in West Dublin and accumulated over two hundred hours of supervised practice with adult clients.
